Growing up in Big Sky Country (Montana), is a place I thought I would forever call home. Until one day, I met my husband and together we decided to move to the great Northwest. For the past 35+ years, we have called this home and have had an amazing adventure along the way. We have a beautiful daughter, that just so happens to be as crafty as her Mom! When taking a little break from all of our creations, we have as much "family time" as possible. In the winter, this usually means skiing at our most favorite "family friendly" ski resort. Spring time brings the usual "getting the yard ready" for summer. Which then brings, summertime (my favorite)! Every chance we get, we're at our lake property, camping in our vintage camper, spending time with family and friends, and watching our amazing daughter creating beautiful moments that will last a lifetime.
Over 25 years ago, when I started flying, I realized, I have a lot of down time, not only on layovers, but at the airports! I had to find a way to keep myself busy, and "people watching", even though is quite interesting and a great way to pass the time, was not productive. Until...I started realizing that not only Flight Crew, but passengers as well, struggled with the same issue I had.
Then...the Bottle Buddy was born -
I could never find a way to carry my bottle of water (because there was never enough room in my bags), so I would lay it across my suitcase. The idea seemed great at first, but it seemed to always fall off, whether going down an escalator, tumbling onto the terminal floor, going over curbs, leaving it behind in the hotel van, etc., you get the idea. Well, I was working with a co-worker and talked to her about my dilemma and my water bottle always taking a fall. She said for as crafty as I am, I should be able to come up with something that could attach to my suitcase, then it hit me! I give her the credit for allowing my creativity to spark the idea. So, after a couple of years of a lot of neoprene, needle pricked fingers, and hours of sewing until the early morning hours - the Bottle Buddy was created. Every time I went out on a trip, crew members went crazy for my Bottle Buddy, wanting to know where they could purchase one. It was then, that I decided there was a huge demand for the Bottle Buddy. Not only knowing the where-a-bouts of my Bottle Buddy at all times, I found that I drank so much more water during the day just having it close by, so that's how I came up with the name. I personally sew each one of them, and my daughter does the finishing touches with coordinating the stainless steel rings and finishing them off with the charms. There is a lot of pride that goes into making each
Bottle Buddy, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
